Please disregard..
I would like to have the ability to customize the PEM log in page to display our company logo rather than the Triton logo, as well as customize the title of the page.
Having a strange issue. Our Cisco router is showing the following errors:
000169: Apr 16 2014 16:00:51.743 EDT: %URLF-5-SERVER_UP: Connection to an URL filter server(10.197.33.10) is made, the router is returning from ALLOW MODE

However, I'm not seeing any errors on the Websense server, which is running on Windows 2008 (32-bit).
Anyone have any idea where I can look to troubleshoot this?
Thanks.
Jason
The major issue for us is that the restrictions you set in the PEM notification email doNOT carry over to the PEM web pages, particularly the Deliver option. Given that RSA suffered a $60+ million dollar loss because someone released an email that was already trapped in their quarantine, allowing end users to release their own emails is a really, really bad idea. The fact that the PEM Web Access allows all options means we can only offer it to a very few people instead of everyone. That means the ESG administrators need to get involved every time someone clicks Always Permit by accident.
We would like the notification email code modified to escape the email addresses (present them as text instead of links). Why would anyone ever need to click an email address link in the PEM notification email? This is a major source of confusion to people. The only links in the PEM notification email should be the action ones off to the far right, the Subject. and Web Access
If someone is not part of the group allowed to authenticate to PEM, the Web Access link should not be displayed.
(using 7.7.3 currently, in case any of this is fixed in a later version)
1) Websense DLP agent in SAFE MODE.
2) Requirement to have ability to review changes made (revision control) before deploying changes as well as roll back capability.
3) Requirement to implement / enhance audit logs to support old and new value parameters associated with every change in system.
4) Requirement to have dual authorization for policy and configuration administration in the system.
5) Messages which have obscured characters or fonts should be detected.
I recently installing a Trinton Unified Security console (v7.8.1), and stuck on the installation of Directory Service Access. The account I used would resulted a pop of "The installer cannot verify your domain settings. Please clear the credentials on this page to continue. You can configure directory service access for affected components after the installation is complete"
It is strange, because the same credential was successfully able to joint the V5000 to join the domain.
Any suggestion?
Following on from my thread here:
http://community.websense.com/forums/p/44150/80423.aspx#80423
I would like to suggest a feature request for a new Websense category for all content that may be embedded into a web page such as syndication.twitter.com or other feeds.
This would allow the administrator to determine if he/she would like to report/allow/block etc on this content that is not being directly driven by the end user
I'm sure this feature would be welcome by many administrators as would be by managers, who receive reports that currently do not reflect actual user driven usage (for example twitter feeds embedded in work related websites, which are logging hours and hours of Social Media usage to the user)
Look forward to your consideration
Regards
Paul
In the Data security reporting section please can you add the ability to add the column "Rules" and then allow users to group by this column like they can with the policies. This will give the ability to filter and see at a glance which rules are being breached the most.
Can you also add the ability to "Group" to all columns this would be very useful on the destination column so you can easily see the top Destination for a breach on a specific channel/rule/policy
I like to have the possibility to rename the policies name

I find that in my Cloud Web Security portal that version 1145 is the most recent version available (1.4.7.6.1145) and the Release Notes do not mention explicitly supporting Windows 8 or 8.1 (but there is a mention that "…endpoint does not support Windows 8 Metro apps…") Which seems to indicate that there may be some level of support on Windows 8.
Page 3 of 1145 Release notes do explicitly note:
Supported operating systems
Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or higher (32-bit and 64-bit)
Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 or higher (32-bit and 64-bit)
Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
My question is are there folks out there with 8 or more specifically 8.1 running with Web endpoint?
thanks
I have several custom URLs I have had to enter before Submitting them to Websense for categorisation.
90% of the time these end up corrected.
It would be helpful if Custon URLs match the category of the master database then they can be removed easily. (as they're no longer required)
We receive sites to block from numerous disparate sources. This would require a lot of manual labor to enter into custom URL categories via the Websense GUI. We also have lists of sites that are updated multiple times a day. Having an API that allows us to write scripts to dynamically add these URLs to blocked lists is very important to us.
Same feature that other customers were seeking before, e.g.:
Hi,
Can I request that we can create seperate email annotations based on Active Directory Organisation Unit as well as by Group please.
Regards
Ben
I have a scenario where I would like to allow an active directory user have a certain policy and the computer to have another policy. If I set the computer policy to no access and allow access to the Active Directory user the Computer Policy trumps the user. The user account I want to restrict access to is a local machine account and not a domain account. Is there any way to do this successfully within Websense WebSecurity?
Hi,
We're having some issues preventing access to Google Drive.
We're currently running Triton Web Security build 7.8.1.1485.
The category Personal Network Storage and Backup is blocked blocked for most users. When I use the URL Category and Test Filtering tools, all of the drive.google.com URLs I test are properly categorized and show that they should be blocked.
However, in practice, users are able to access Google Drive without any issue.
I used the TestLogServer tool to take a look at the traffic, and everything it picked up was showing up in the category Search Engines and Portals. Here's a sample of the output:
DestinationIp= 173.194.43.44
time= Wed Apr 09 17:18:18 2014 version= 6
disposition= 1026 - Category Permitted
URL= HTTPS://173.194.43.44
protocol= 11 - HTTPS port= 443 networkDirection= Inbound
category= 76 - SEARCH ENGINES AND PORTALS
categoryReason= 1 - Master Database: URL
Is there a way to differentiate the traffic to drive.google.com from other Google traffic so we can block it?
Thanks!
I'm setting up cloud security for the first time and need to import many url's from notepad into the non-proxied destinations or anywhere else. This text file will be all the url's that will be allowed no matter what. I hope I dont have to enter them all manually!
Thanks.
