We have implemented YouTube For Schools integration with Websense Web Security. Websense properly rewrites URLs to append the edufilter string to queries from web browsers on our Windows 7 clients. However, we have discovered that our iPads connect to the m.youtube.com mobile YouTube site and Websense does not append the edufilter string, allowing unlimited access to YouTube videos. How can we correct this behavior so that all of our clients are properly filtered using YouTube For Schools?

No network login option on unified security center
Hi there, I have no option to log into the USC as my network user. I have configured all the AD settings and have verified the connections. I have added my domain user to the list of administrators but there is no option to logon to the network.

"Error creating the user" when trying to add an administrator in TRITON Settings
Good day!
I receive an error message when trying to add some Network Account users as administrators in the TRITON Settings, while I'm able to add others. The error message I get is:
Error creating the user xxxxxx : A general error has occurred.
Error creating the user xxxxxx : A detailed message was written to the server's log file, the message can be identified as xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I don't know where is the server's log file. Closest thing I found is in the Windows 2008 Application logs. I have an error related to eventID 0, source PostgreSQL, saying: "ERROR: numeric field overflowDETAIL: A field with precision 32, scale 0 must round to an absolute value less than 10^32."
Websense version is 7.7.3 using Web Security only, running on a Windows 2008 SP2.
Any help would be appreciated.

Implementing Custom URL Domain Match via Manager or Appliance Command Line Utilitty

Huge traffic utilization by Websense Web Security
Hi everyone. Sometimes we faces very strange Web Security server behavior - it starts permanently download something from ddsint.websense.com and spend about 10 GB per day. After reboot problem dissapears for some time (month or two). We have tried to upgrade it but problem is still there.
Does anybody know what is going on?

7.8 installation questions
We are currently running a two server websense 7.1 setup. instead of trying to upgrade the old servers, I am attempting to setup 7.8 web security using two new servers. One server for the log roles and another for all the rest.
I am pretty lost so here goes...
1. Do I need to install the triton infrastructure component on both servers?
2. It looks like by default during the installation it is attempting to use the same DB name that my 7.1 installation is using "wslogdb70". How do I force it to use a different DB?

i was trying evaluate websense by downloading the Websense Web Security - Windows 64-bit. it was sized 2.5 GB. when try to run the exe file its reaching 2 % and then iam getting 7 zip data error, i tried to download second time and same thing happening, there is any other place i could download the wensense to evaluate

Policy for Executive level is not being applied to users
Hello, I am using Active directory, and Windows 7.6 on this installation. We have a group in Active Directory for Executive level users which permits everything with the exception of adult material. A user wanted to access a site but it was being blocked by quota time so I elevated her rights. Once I did that, it seemed to work for a short time but now she has quota time again even though I have added her to the executive level group and the policy over this group allows all. I want this user to never have any quota time and to have the full benefits of being in the executive group. It seems as if it only sees her at the default level because when she goes to a site, it will prompt her to use quota time with the default of 60 minutes. I need her in the executive level group and to have the same level of access as anyone else in that group. I have tested my connection with the DC listed in the settings and the connection passed. I have also restarted all Websense services. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

websense 7.8 and cisco integration not working
installed 7.8 with cisco asa integration. cisco rules left behind from a 7.5 install and were working fine. pointed to the new 7.8 server and filtering not happening. policy set to default and when testing with porn sites, they all appear.

I just installed the demo version of Websense 7 and after I entered my evaluation key it says I have -1 users. Isn't this supposed to be a positive number. I noticed it because I'm having problems getting it setup to block sites. My question is, should this be a negative number because it's a demo version and would this being a negative user number have a effect on blocking sites?

SSL website not loading
I am unable to reach https://portal.mss.iss.net through our Websense 7.8.1 (or 7.7.3, tested both) web security.
Online search suggests that it can be due to websense->ips at website side. Any ideas?

Network Agent cannot be installed. No network cards suitable for network agent communication have been detected
I have a difficult problem. I purchased a small HP server (ML110 G7) to be used as a remote filtering server at a branch location. I have several older servers like this in place already, and on them I only install the Network agent and the filtering service, and point them back to the main policy server for updates and reporting. I am currently using Websense Web Security 7.5.1 on all windows 2003 Server machines. This new HP ML110 server does not come with Windows 2003 Server drivers, only Windows Server 2008 drivers. I can set the BIOS to legacy mode and load Windows Server 2003 on it however and it loads just fine. The problem comes when I try to install Websense services, the network agent and the filtering service. The install process stops at the configuration phase with a "Network Card Error" The error message says: "Network Agent cannot be installed. No network cards suitable for network agent communication have been detected. How do you want to proceed?" The server came with 2 HP NC112i Network cards in it. I thought maybe they were the problem so I purchased a Broadcom BCM 5751Gb Network card and installed it and disabled the HP cards. The same thing happens with the Broadcom card. Anyone have any ideas how I can get Websense 7.5.1 to install on Windows Server 2003 on a HP ML110 G7 server with a Broadcom 5751Gb NIC?
Websense Web Security 7.5.1 won't install on Windows Server 2008, so that's not an option. I can't upgrade to a newer version of Websense which requires Windows 2008 since I have Windows Server 2003 OS everywhere else; in about 12 locations. The older hardware won't support the newer Windows Server 2008 OS and I can't upgrade all the hardware at this point.

2 * V5000 G2 with cisco ironport cache
Hello guys
We have now a softeware only web security solution with netagent.
Now we are upgrading to the appliance version with 2 V5000G2. but the problem when we test with these appliance no filtring is occured and the network agent only sees tnon http:https trrafic (we have a proxy cache ironport).
but that works fine with oldest plateforme. the span is in the same session for the plateforme.
When i bypass the cache proxy the appliances can filter.
(i added the proxy adresses to the NetAgent configuration)
Do you have any idea please?

user quota enabled
hello i am evaluating new websense trition 7.8 with webfilter alone. i have setup the websense on one of the system and configured. its been integrated to my asa 5510. i have one unrestricted policy for permit youtube and facebook. others not in restricted has youtube block and facebook block, but when i tested from those not in unrestricted group ,iam getting windows quote enabled ,i have checked all my policy and filters none of them have quote enabled. thats one issue. and if i access these site with https://youtube.com and https://facebook.com i could access from this client that not in unrestricted group
how can i restrict accessing this sites
