Problem:
Client has a Windows Domain with 2 clustered V5000 appliances acting as Proxy & Filtering.
this works as expected for Windows Servers & users.
They have added a Unix server with an application that makes a SSL connection to an external web site.
They have added the IP address of the Unix server to the Clients list in Websense and assigned a Policy to this client to filter access to the required URL (and only the required URL).
The application will not connect to the site and the extended proxy log shows a 403 forbidden error.
If they open a web browser on the Unix box and browse to this URL Websense prompts them for user credentials. They can enter Windows AD credentials in the logon prompt and connect to the site. The application will then work for a few minutes before failing again with a 403 error in the proxy log.
How can I configure Websense / V5000 proxy to not prompt the Unix server IP address for user credentials to connect to the web but still filter traffic so only traffic to the specified custom URL's are allowed?
Cheers,
Anthony.
