I currently have Websense Web Filter 7.1 installed on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 VM. I have a second VM with Windows Server 2012 R2 up and ready to go. What is the best way to go from one to the other?
Should I backup (as per http://www.websense.com/support/article/t-kbarticle/v7-How-do-I-back-up-my-Websense-filtering-configuration-1258048449474), install 7.1 on the 2012 machine, restore the backup, and then upgrade to 7.6.x, then to 7.8.x? Any quirks or things I should know before proceeding? What will be the effect if I keep the 2003 7.1 install running while installing on the new VM? Can they both run at once with no issue until the new version is up and ready to go?
