We would like to see the functionality of adding wildcard domains (*.domain.com) to unfiltered destinations in the Web Filter hybrid configuration, instead of single host names only.

Product Feature Request
In our v.7.6.2 (with 6 appliances) and 7.7.3 (with 3 appliances), looking at the Web Security - Main - Status - Today page:
Would be better if "Health Alert Summary" was actually a roll-up of all components. False sense of security if all looks fine on the Triton server, but when you change to a different Policy Server (appliance) you see failed services, stopped agents, other errors. Each appliance listed with green check or red X icon would be fine - especially if you could drill down to the appliance from the icon.
Would be better if "Current Filtering Load" on Triton server showed separate lines for each appliance ... and when you change to a different Policy Server (appliance) you would see a different graph - here a graph of the filtering load from just this appliance.
Would be better if "Filtering Service Summary" was truly a *summary* of all components - not just Triton.
For a long time I thought what I saw in Triton was status of all components - imagine my surprise when I changed Policy Servers to an appliance for the first time and saw a long list of health errors!

Upgrade fail due to installer not able to stop log service
I have a 2008 R2 server with Websense 7.8.1 and I am upgrading to 7.8.4. The first part of the Infrastructure upgrade has completed successfully, but now when the Web Security or RiskVision upgrade tries to take place it stops at the Configuration step saying, "Problem Stopping All Services. Please stop the following services manually: Log Server.
The service had an issue stopping so I disabled it and rebooted. The service comes up in a stopped state and I still get the above message with:
Problem stopping all services. Please stop the following services manually. Click NEXT only after the services have been stopped. Log Server
The service is not even running and I can't proceed? Help.

URL category list update failed with reason "Error [8]: Failed to download Real-time Update (Not enough space on disk)".
Hi
Since Yestderday, Real-time Internet Threat Database update is not happening in Websense Email Security 7.3 with HF7
The log shows that URL category list update failed with reason "Error 8: Failed to download Real-time Update (Not enough space on disk)".
The Server has enough space on disk ( 367 GB and 417 GB free space available in Volume C and D respectively).
Is there any way to correct this?

Full Logging
Hello All,
I am looking for some information about full loggings.
3. After accessing the URL https://sync-web.mailcontrol.com/hosted/logs, we get the list of the all the available .gz file.
Is there any upper limit on the number of this .gz files and if yes, what is the limit?
How many maximum number of .gz files can be stored at a given time?
4. Also, is there any upper limit on the number of log lines in single .gz files? If yes, what is the upper limit for the same?
What is the criteria after which the Websense device will generate the new .gz file?
Does any one here have the answers to these?

Backup/Restore Custom Categories
Put in a feature to backup/restore custom categories. I had an issue today with accidentally deleting a custom category and found that there was no way to restore the custom list. Something that we put work into to build we should be able to have a backup of it but no luck. This is for the cloud web solution.

Upgrading Websense Triton USC v7.7.3.11 to v7.7.6
Hi Guys,
I´m new in the websense world, Our customer has Websense Triton USC v7.7.3.11 installed on a server Windows 2008 R2 and the database in other server Windows 2008 R2, our customer is asking us to upgrade from v7.7.3 to 7.7.6, is it really exist this patch? Because I´m looking in the websense KB and the only information that I found is upgrading from 7.7 to 7.8 so, what is the next patch after 7.7.3?

How to fix NIC settings for network agent - I think there are specific line entries in "config.xml"
My Websense 7.5 installation - location "B" runs filtering, using the policy broker server at location "A". At location "A", the settings for network agent - NIC settings are backwards. NIC #1 is configured to send the block pages, and NIC #2 is the monitoring NIC. Websense sees NIC #1 as the monitoring NIC and NIC #2 as the NIC for block pages.
How do I fix? Is it just entries in 1 specific place of "config.xml"? What are best practices to save "config.xml" and gain update access to the file and then have changes recognized?

30 day trial license question
I have installed Websense Manager 7.01 with the 30 days license. I found I could not do any filtering and categorization with it. When I use "URL Category" toolbox, all the urls return "Uncategorized" and the "Test Filtering" toolbox all returns "LICENSE LEVEL EXCEEDED NOT BLOCKED" when I tried a filter I defined. I'm wondering is it because of the license I'm using. If the 30 days license won't allow me to try any filtering, what can I do with this license? Thanks for any help.

Feature Request for Search Filtering for Blackle.com
I would like to request that Websense Search Filtering include support for other search engines such as blackle.com. Right now, with Websense Web Security Gateway 7.3 a person can use the search engine blackle.com to do a search for the words xxx and it comes back with all kinds of adult and pornographic search results. It would be nice if Websense could filter the search results from blackle.com the same way it filters search results from google.com and yahoo.com.

Feature Request - Merging of like incidents
We have a need to be able to merge incidents when multiple incidents are created for the same user action but discovered by various channels. Preferably, this would happen automatically, but a manual process would be sufficient.
As an example, when a user sends out a SSN, the endpoint creates an incident, and the network email creates an incident. This is a simple example but now 2 incidents were created for 1 action. When we go to pull metrics at the end of the month, we need to spend a considerable amount of time getting an actual count of how many violations we had. The reporting features are then limited to only internal consumption as we can't send these out to management without a lot of explanation.

Protector - MTA mode TLS configuration through the GUI
Dear Websense!
It would be good if we could configure TLS encryption on the Protector if it is running in MTA mode.
I know there is option to configure it through CLI but it just not feasible for day-to-day operation.

Feature Request - Ability to move rules between Policies
Currently, we have the need to set different thresholds on different channels. As an example, I want to alert on all instances of emailing out CCNs but I don't want an alert every time someone pays a personal bill with their own credit card over the internet.
Right now, we have to create multiple policies called CCN_Email Only and CCN_Non Email and the edit the rules accordingly. This is causing us to duplicate many policies. It will get worse once we starting further breaking it apart to send user notifications only on a specific channel violation instead of sending on all, which would result in multiple notifications. We don't want to be left with 100 policies for on 25 specific types of policies.
We would like the ability to create a policy and then add multiple instances of the same rule that can then be edited. Alternatively, being able to drag and drop rules between policies to reorganize without have to fully create our own custom policies would be a plus.

notification email to %destination%
Hi all,
We have a rule that blocks incoming files of certain file-types. When that rule is matched we would like to send a notification email to the recipient or "%Destination%". The user could then contact our help-desk to potentially have that message released after it is reviewed. The problem is %Destination% is not a notification option which really surprises me especially when it is an option for the Subject line. I get the fact that the DLP product is essentially designed to prevent data from leaving, but even so - the DLP product is what Websense also uses to filter incoming messages. We can isolate the incoming messages easy enough, but notifying the users is a must for us. Any thoughts? Thanks

FR - Allow a Close from Remediate dialog box
When we Remediate an issue, the check box gets cleared and we have to go find it again to Close it. Please add a drop-down or something on the Remediate dialog box so we can Remediate and Close.

Restore operation of Incidents when clicking a row as it was in 7.7.3
In 7.7.3 you could click the box next to an incident and it automatically set focus to the row. That was you could see what it was that you just checked. In 7.8.4 it doesn't do that. You could easily check the wrong row and not get the clue that the incident was not the one you thought it was.

Please let us clear the appliance cache without a remote service call
Support thinks we have a corrupted file or two in our cache but it requires them to remote in, stop the WCG, delete the cache and restart the WCG.
We can't do that during the workday so this is going to require a late night support call. That burns a lot more of our time than it ever needs to be.
