Upgrade From 7.1 To Latest
Hi all,
Our current configuration is Webfilter 7.1 loaded on a Windows Server 2003 R2 box with the database residing on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server running SQL Server 2000.
I would like to get upgraded to the latest Webfilter version (7.8.3?). I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine ready for the installation and a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine with SQL Sqerver 2008 R2 ready for the database.
So how do I get from point A to point B?

Audit Logs Not Enough for a DLP Product
Most of the customers has a very strict policies based on government rules. They need to audit DLP Admins in order to control any mis-usage of DLP products. We can see some audit logs about admin activities but can't see what object has been changed and its before and after settings.
If admin add its email address in any rule as a destination exception, we can't see and control this change.
In summary, we need very detailed audit logs and send them to log management system in CEF format.
This feature is very important for us and looking forward to see in next upcoming release.

Can we modify Dirsync connection timeout? Connection to Ad failing.
I’m having a problem with using Dirsync in a distributed environment. We’ve had to add very many different directory sources within the one Dirsync client, due to the nature of their AD. However, due to intermittent poor connections, we often see one of the sources time out, which causes the whole process to fail. Is there anything that can be done to improve things, for example, is there any way to change the Dirsync timeout in the directory connection. Can we retry automatically on a failure?
Note, the failure is between Dirsync and any one of the directory servers, and not between Dirsync and our cloud.
I’m using Dirsync 1.2-RC4, and I can’t see any settings that would help with the problem.

Deploying a new Internet Gateway in an Active/Active scenario
I am looking at setting up another internet gateway for our Executive Branch office. We currently use a Web filter and Network agent at our core where all internet requests are handled. My question is I guess two part:
1. Do I need additional licenses to monitor two gateways, i.e. two network agents and Filters?
2. Do you recommend I use a dedicated Network Agent and Filtering Server at each site? Or, will the impact of sending the requests to the existing Filtering server over our MPLS 50mbps circuit be minimal?
Any info is appreciated.

Websense 7.1 and Google sites - Whitelist Problems
We are planning an upgrade soon, but I have an issue with a Limited Access filter group of people, that are no longer getting to Google sites. Stopped working about a month ago. Am I stuck for the time being, until we complete the upgrade?
Specifically, the users need access to Google search, Maps, and Translate.
Sorry if I sound clueless, the Analyst that used to manage Websense retired, and this was dropped in my lap.
I'm learning on the fly, and I don't fly for crap.

Gateway timeout when running reports (7.8.2 -7 .8.3)
We were at 7.8.1 and things were good.
Upgraded to 7.8.2 and we started getting timeout when running reports. Users aren't impacted and logs are populating the DB just fine
Now at 7.8.3, no different.
The report finished on the SQL server,
For example, i do an investigative report, searching for URL "theonion.com" for the last 30 days.
DB guy says the query took 1 minute 9 seconds, but in Triton, after about a minute, I get a Gateway timeout error.
It's like Triton doesn't wait long enough
The exact text of the error message is:
Gateway Timeout
The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application.

Presentation Reports - Limit on Category selections
Web Security > Presentation Reports.
Currently when i create a report of a base template I'm unable to add more than 20 categories to the filter, I raised a support call and was advised to raised feature request on this forum.
Please can you increase the limit to enable adding more than 20 categories for custom reports created one of the base templates?

Bring us back the Common Tasks menu in v7.8.3
Hello,
Since we migrated TRITON to version 7.8.3, we noticed that the Common Tasks menu we had in v7.7.3 simply disappeared.
Please, add this menu again in version 7.8.3...
It was a really convenient menu, and now my administrators are all asking me why it's not in v7.8.3 anymore...

Feature request for outlook drafts content monitor
In email channel, it can't monitor outlook drafts content, we want to monitor the draft mail, because the user write a mail and does not send to anyone, then use the outlook web access check drafts at outside, it can get sensitive information.

Content Gateway failed to connect to the filtering service, 7.8.3
Hello,
We are getting this message a couple times a week from the content gateway. Our filtering service is installed on a windows server at the same location. So far this message seems to be harmless, where I guess it looses connection but comes right back and I just end up clearing the event as I noticed no issues.
But last week it was together with another message on the content gateway, where it lost connection with the policy broker, and I actually had to reboot the windows server the filtering service was on to get our filtering back. Nothing was being blocked during that time.
The content gateway, filtering service, and policy broker are all on separate servers.
Is this a timeout issue/setting on the content gateway?

Presentation Report XLS Output
Hello,
After working with support, its been found that Websense's XLS output is currently restrained to Excel 2003 limitations. When running a presentation report of all User Activity Detail the row limitation is hit very quickly. The suggestions of collecting less data is not acceptable in many environments.
The XLS output feature needs to be updated to accommodate higher levels of data.

Granualar control for Webmail Services
We have had several clients asking for more granular control of webmail services such as Gmail, Hotmail, etc. By this I mean being able to block sending of mail but still allow view of email. This seems to be inline with the already implemented Web 2.0 categories within WSG. This is not data specific, hence me logging this under WSG and not Data Security.

Triton 7.7.3.11 - Web Security 7.7.3.1147 - Error: Web Security could not be launched.
While trying to fix Log Server issue (service not staying up). I might have upgraded the Web Security ?? and now when I log into Triton using the browser I get "Web Security could not be launched."
I tried modify both Triton and Websecurity and still did not fix the issue. What do I need to do to be able to access Triton from a browser?

Allow one specifc windows media streaming address
Is there a way to only allow or add an exception for a windows media streaming link? I tried adding it to our global exceptions list, but it does not accept the format for it...looks like you can only use http/https there. The link looks like below from the real-time monitor:
