Upgrade Triton 7.8.4 to 8.2 fail - Cannot connect to triton settings database

Hello folks,

I have a problem with upgrade of Triton 7.8.4 to 8.2. During Setting up PostgreSQL atfer some seconds appear pop-up with message Cannot connect to triton settings database.

My environment is WS 2008 R2 SP1 en-us.

I was check the policies, firewall, UAC and more another best practices.

After that cancel this process, I receive the following message:

"Error 1720: There is a problem with Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run."

Somebody have a idea to resolve this problem?

Problem With Websense X Skype (Proxy)

Hi Team !!!

I'm facing a problem with Skype. Takes too long to connect successfully, the user needs to click several times at "Login" to connect, the only error it's that Skype could not connect.

At Proxy it's already at tunnel mode.

And the filter ""Internet Telephony" and "Uncategorized" it's Allow.

 

Can you guys help me please!! Thanks.

Websense policie assigned to wireless networks

I am attempting to create a new Websense policy for our wireless network. Currently, we block social media as a baseline security policy but, we allow it to certain users and assign those clients to our social media policy. That seems to work well. I then tried two different options:

1) assign wireless network to our social media policy

2) create new wireless policy copied from social media policy

Neither solution worked. What happens is when I connect a wireless device (iPhone) to the wireless network and try to connect to Facebook, I keep getting network error and cannot use Facebook.  I further tested adding our wireless network to the source bypass object group in our firewall, and then it works since it is bypassing the proxy altogether.

Is there any special configuration that I need to apply to this policy and network so that it will work correctly?  We are currently running Forcepoint Triton Manager v8.2.  We are using Content Gateway as well. There are 4 filtering appliances in place in different regions all talking to one policy broker.

SQL Server (full ver) on the TRITON management server

What prevents using a full installation of SQL server 2008 R2 or 2012 R2 on the same server as the Management Server installation? All documentation says it can't be done, but gives no explanation as to the reason...

Is there a port conflict or other hard limiting factor that would preclude this configuration? It seems that if SQL 2008 R2 Express can be run on the same system, then a full installation could also be installed and run from the same system (given that the available hardware was substantial enough to host all the services on one box)...

Is there any future in this?  The docs state that it only support 6.0 and 6.5 - is there a plan, roadmap, or anything regarding this?

PEM unreachable except with Internet Explorer

  Does anyone know why the PEM appears to be completely unreachable unless the user is using Internet Explorer? It's not like the site doesn't work properly, it simply doesn't come up at all. This seems very weird considering the direction web browser support across the industry appears to be going (i.e. away from Internet Explorer).

Adjusting spam sensitivity

We have recently implemented ESGs with Hybrid service, but we noticed that a lot of e-mail is coming through marked only as Commercial when it should probably be marked as Spam. Under the Anti-Spam filter, there is the option to edit the Hybrid Service analysis score threshold, but nowhere have I found an explanation as to whether a higher number means more permissive or more restrictive, and against what number this is used-- for example, in the Logs I might see this:

 

This message was treated as a Clean message;Matched Action-Commercial Bulk Default email hybrid service analysis result: DKIM
 check is [PASS], spam score is [2.00], name of virus encountered is 
[NULL], mark message as commercial bulk and reputation score is [19];

Is the Hybrid Analysis number compared with the spam score above? Is a lower Hybrid Service analysis more restrictive or less?

Custom categories not working

Hi -

I created new custom category to block some websites and in the policies I blocked the custom category

however in the "Filtering Test" shows the website is allowed.

how do i take preference to block the custom category.

"Use most restrictive group policy" filtering on Content Gateway

Hi,

 

we are using Triton APX 8.2 with Content Gateway 8.2 on CentOS 6.7. We tried to clear the flag "Use most restrictive group policy". Acording to the "Test filtering" and "Check Policy" tools, the user can access sites, which are allowed on one of the policies. But the content gateway continues to work in filtering mode with "Use most restrictive group policy" checked. It applies the most restritive policy to the user. Can the content gateway use this feature?
