I have Websense components installed on a Windows 2008 R2 Standard x64 server with no issue. I want to install the ISAPI Plugin to work with ISA 2006 on a separate Win 2003 server. Is this not an option with Websense 7.7.3? The plugin does not seem to be included with the installer and it appears only TMG is an option with this version of Websense - which does not work for our organization at this time.

My customer needs to have separate disclaimers not only for different email domains (which we have done) but for emails containing a specific word or phrase in the subject or message body. Looks like this is not an option. Has anyone else asked for this? Is it on the roadmap?

Users are not being recognized by the hybrid servic, all we see in the reports is a Public IP Address which defaults to defult policy. when we run hybrid authetication report nothing shows up. Even we have installed the web end-point client with the same results; just see the IP and not the users.
Also, I can not de-install the client as the password entered for tempering is not working.

I'm using Web Security build.7.6.2.1449 , I have blocked all Uncategorize sites thru policy.
I now that you can customize the block site page ,but can you set-it up so the user that receives the block site page can re-categorize the site?
I want users to have the option when they receive the block page for Uncategorize to have the option to select a category and input (if possibly ) a rezone they are accessing the site and automatically the site is accessible to the user - temporary if possible ,so an admin can receive a request to permanently categorize ;

I have been online since 3 4 hours and the page response is pathetic, i wanted to download the windows installer for Version 7.3, only 7% is downloaded in the last 3 hours and the current download rate is 22Kbps..!! I do not think it can get worse than this.
I put a request in for this many months ago to the Database group but hope I can get more traction here.
Currently there is a Gambling category, but what I'm asking for is to break that out into two categories:
Gambling Information-- Sites that contain information about, or companies that promote/are involved in gambling, but no actual gambling can be done on these sites. Examples would be Casino/Racetrack company websites; they are no different from any other business's website and do not allow you to gamble on the website.
Online Gambling-- Sites that allow users to participate in online gambling. Since this practice is illegal in many (if not all) states/countries I believe it should be made it's own category which allows us to give access to pertinent business information about companies such as Casinos/Racetracks/etc while still keeping in line with company policy / government law in blocking online gambling.

some sort of line or bar graph that shows bandwitdh useage by time of day (daily or range)
say i want to know when my bandwidth was mostused in working hours (after hours interest me less)
and if possible by category (i.e streaming video in working hours)

I am having a bit of trouble and hope you all can help. For our shop users we have created a policy called shop security that blocks pretty much all internet access. The problem is if I add an active directory group to the policy it does not seem to work. They can still access the internet at the same level as the default policy user. But if I add an individual to the shop security group then it works like it is suppose to. I have it set in the settings to use the most restricted. So how can I get it to make sure the AD group is using the policy and not the individual user choosing the default policy?

We upgraded from Citrix Presentation Manager 4.5 to XenApp 6.5 in the fall and from what I can tell, 7.5, 7.6 nor 7.7 -- none of these Websense Web Security products support integration with XenApp 6.5 only 5 and 6.0 Websense has always supported Citrix integration (for user based policy), and 6.5 has been out for over a year... I'm really disappointed that Websense has not provided support for it, unless I just don't see where /how ? How are others handling this issue? I suppose I could continue filtering with a general policy, but when human resources asks me for a report to show web browsing activity for an individual citrix user, I will be left explaining that I cannot provide it .... Is there an ETA for XenApp 6.5 integration support ? This is really important and may result in my searchign for another product/solution all together.. which would be a shame.

I have Websense Email Security 7.2 with Windows Server 2003 and on Citrix servers.
I have made some work on my email filter to catch any keywords or phrases I have entered in my own dictionary that I setup myself. The rule I have created for this to work is if the message is inbound and the score is = or over 100 then send an email notification back to the sender and isolate the message in the isolate section of the filter.
However due to other firms/organizations having the "automatic reply" or "do not reply" on their servers, I receive 5,6 even more pages worth of these messages from this different businesses saying the "do not reply" so they are worthless bouncebacks. To get these to stop I have to (in the rules administrator) delete the email notification, wait 5 minutes for the bouncebacks to stop and then re-add the email notification again and it's getting a pain now.
Is there anyway I get the email notification to send only once to these other firms servers?

I need a little advice on the best way forward here. Currently we have a Web Security 7.1 set up as follows:
Server 1: Win2003: Policy Broker & Policy Server. Also Filtering service and ISA2006
Server 2: Win2003, (domain controller): Log server with MSDE database
Server 3: Win2003: Filtering service and ISA2006
Servers 4&5: As per server 3 but located remotely, communicating with Policy Server over our WAN.
I know that I need to upgrade the operating systems, upgrade ISA to TMG, upgrade the database. I also wich to migrate the policy settings, rather than have to recreate the policy.
So, the anticipated solution is:
Install Websense (policy broker, policy server, log server, user service) on a new Win2008R2 server, along with the SQL server 2008R2 Express database.
Remove all Websense functionality from Server 2.
Replace servers 1, 3, 4 and 5 with Win2008R2 servers with Forefront TMG, & the ISAPI plug-in.
So my simple questions are: "Is the proposed structure OK?" and "What is the best route to this final configuration which will preserve existing settings and minimise down time?"
I just built a Websense policy server and 3 filtering servers, all housed in our corporate headquarters. Across our enterprise, we have 70 or so Juniper firewalls that have Websense redirects which each configured to one of the 3 filtering servers. I was wondering if we could create a VIP on one of our existing A10 hardware loadbalancers that all of our Junipers could redirect to, and then the load-balancer would forward on to one of the filtering servers?
I'd assume we'd need to ensure all/any needed ports would be allowed thru the A10. Just curious if anyone has been successful doing this method of having one vip address on a loadbalancer, push to several filtering servers.

I am new to websense but at one point a few years ago I managed Surf Control so I am used to webfilter concept. My question is with Triton when you choose filter components lets say shopping. you see internet auctions and real estate. When I check a url like Macy it shows shopping. When I try Radio Shack it shows shopping.
I would like to shutdown Macy and keep Radio shack.
I would also like the ability to be more granular with Macy and shut down shoe department but allow for appliances like TV and Refig.
We deployed this about 3 weeks ago and we are starting to get negative feedback.

Recently we just noticed that old dc is showing up when choose a client to apply a policy to. We have been using a new DC for some time now and the settings are properly configured within Directory Services.
When we choose an OU to apply a policy the edit client shows as our old dc (which has been retired for over a year). This is not particular to a specific client.
For example, it shows:
Client : LDAP://OLDDC.DOMAIN.COM OU=CLIENT,DC=CONTOSO,DC=COM instead of LDAP://NEWDC.DOMAIN.COM OU=CLIENT,DC....
Any fixes or suggestions to fix this?
