We applied hotfix 8 to our Websense Email security server. Install completed successfully. However, the scheduled task 'Index Maintenance weekly' fails. It does not run at the scheduled time, nor does it run manually. This task ran successfully before applying hotfix 8.
I tried the procedure below to rebuild the URLDatabase which succeeded, but the Index still failed.
Procedure:
When you upgrade CatEngine, you must have Email Security regenerate index files. This takes about 1 hour, and Rules Service will not handle any email during this time. Do not restart or stop Rules Service to interrupt the process. In the rare case there is an error initializing the ITD Scanning Engine in the Monitor client, delete the folder 'URLDatabase' then run the Scheduler task, "Master Internet Threat Database Update Daily," to fix it.
What does the Index maintenance weekly task do and do we need this functionality? If it is needed, then how do I get it to run?
