Yahoo began enabling HTTPS encryption for email by default on January 8. This is a good thing for their customer privacy, but it has had the adverse affect of messing up access to Yahoo Finance for us. It seems that because we block the General Email category by default, many of our users can no longer access Yahoo Finance.
I know why happening. It is because the Juniper firewall only sees target IP addresses when HTTPS is used rather than the full URL. And some of Yahoo's General Email IP addresses are hit when Yahoo Finance pages are requested. (We are using Web Security 7.6.2 with Juniper integration.)
When I add the user to an exception policy that allows General Email, they can then access Yahoo Finance. This is a solution, but not an ideal solution. Has anyone else observed this and how are you dealing with it?
Thanks in advance!
